Knowing that this is a single parent forum, I wanted to let all of you single moms out there that tomorrow is your day as well! After all, you share Mother's Day with us single dads!
Take care all!
You are so sweet. We just returned from our early Father's Day celebration. Little one made a laminated picture of herself at school for her Grandpa and Uncle Nick. Only trouble was that her ego is big enough that she wanted them back. :o
Her self esteem is certainly in tact - we may have to work on humble.
And certainly may you have a Happy Father's Day! I hope that you are treated royally. Cheers!

Thank you very much! And back at 'cha!
I'm a single mom and I wonder when I'll be my first Father's day card. Although my son is only 4, I don't expect it for a couple years!
People that aren't single don't get it - being mom and dad at the same time.
Grandpa is getting a t-shirt with a wanted poster - my son be the 'wanted'.
It has his picture and says "WANTED . . . For stealing Grandpa's heart. Armed with hugs, kisses, smiles and giggles. Extremely dangerous." He'll love it. He loves sappy stuff! But he won't admit it.
Are all men that way?
Happy Father's Day, Indy... Wow!!! You have 7 boys... Too wild.... :)
Enjoy your day tomorrow... :D
Happy Father's Day everyone! We are spending the day walking in a local festival parade and then in the pool!
I wanted to share a recent "father" story. M has recently become more aware of family composition, not only ours but others we know. After meeting Indy and his boys, M has decided we need more boys. Anyway, we were riding in the van when M asked "Do we have a daddy?" I reminded him that we each have a biological daddy, but that he and his brothers don't have a step-dad or an adoptive dad. He replied with "Oh." A long pause followed, which I thought meant my answer satisfied him. Evidently not, he then asked, "Well, can we get one from the daddy store?" I thought I was going to choke from the laughter I was suppressing. I explained to him that there wasn't a daddy store, while inside I was thinking, "I wonder if they have one with a drive-thru window?" So, if anyone knows where a good daddy store is, please let us know!
Sam
According to my nephew the Daddy store is in Russia.
About a month after coming home with my daughter, we were in a pizza place waiting for the group photo of all of the grandchildren to be developed and printed. I had my daughter and three nephews.
The then six year old then asked me at the top of his lungs (or so it felt) when I was going back to Russia to adopt a Daddy?
I swear every Christmastime shopper who had stopped for pizza turned around to stare at us.

Sam,
If you find that store...........let me know!!!! Q and J and I will be right behind you in line!!!
J and I have had this conversation many, many times - he's also 6, must be when they really understand the lack of a dad compared to other families. Anyway, his comment (also at the top of his lungs while we were in line at the grocery store).
J: "Why don't I have a dad like so-and-so?"
S: "You just don't. Mom isn't married yet."
J: "Why not?"
S: "I haven't met the right man for the job."
J: "But WHEN are we going to get a dad?"
S: "I don't know, honey. I'm still looking."
J: "Well, you're not looking very hard!!!!"
Unfortunately, J has also decided that if we get a Daddy, I certainly need to stop looking for baby brother(s) and get him a baby sister!!! ("Cuz then there's too many boys, mom, and Nellie our cat is a girl but that's not the same, mom.")
Glad to know I'm not the only one in the boat.......
Sandy
On Father's Day, my daughter told me "Happy Mommy Father's Day." It was the cutest words she said that day. :)
