Hello
I have been searching for the child that was given up by my first husband's ex-girlfriend...he would be my children's older half brother. When I started dating my ex-husband in 1967, I was 14 and he was almost 18. He told me that he had just broken up with a girl, and she was pregnant with his baby. He told me that he offered to marry her, and she said no. When he had met that girl, she already had a baby girl from her ex-boyfriend. Years later she married someone and had two children with him. I had made a comment to my husband at the time, that she had two more kids. He said well she always liked kids. I said then why did she have an abortion with your baby? He said she didn't, I assume she gave it up for adoption. So many years go by and my husband and I divorce, (after 20 years of marriage). And by this time I have a computer and social media etc so I decided to get in touch with his ex-girlfriend, (from 1967). We all came from a very small town, and everyone knew everyone. So I wrote her a letter and told her everything I knew about her and my now ex-husband, how he told me she was pregnant and how he offered to marry her and she wrote back to me. First of all she was amazed that I knew as much as I did. Then she told me he never offered to marry her. She said he dropped her like a hot potato as soon as she told him she was pregnant. She told me that she didn't tell her parents she was pregnant until she went into labor. They told her she would not be keeping the baby since she already had one baby at home, (who was about 14-16 months old by then). So she had the baby, a boy that she named Ronnie. He was born on Sept. 20th 1967 at Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown, CT. There was one nurse there that felt bad for her when she heard that she had to give him up. So she let her hold him. That was the only time she held him, and her parents wouldn't let her take a picture of him. He was her only son. She ended up having 4 daughters, one from the first boyfriend in 1966 and then she was married two times. From the first husband she had two daughters and from the 2nd husband she had one daughter. She doesn't remember where the baby was brought to, to be adopted out. She just remembers her father driving her to sign papers. She thinks it was toward New London CT or in that area. She had lived in Clinton, CT we all lived in Clinton, CT. She told me that she always hoped he would look for her. She said she was afraid to look for him, thinking that he would hate her. However she doesn't know if he even knows that he was adopted, and doesn't know where he was adopted to. I had three children with my ex-husband so this child, where ever he is, has at least 5 sisters and 2 brothers. (Counting the children his mom has). My children would love to find their older brother. He would be 46 now. My children are almost 40, 38 and 34. His Mom's children range in age from 47 to about 37. She did not put my ex-husband's name on the birth certificate, because she said he wanted nothing to do with him, so she said he didn't deserve to have his name on there. Only her name is on the birth certificate. Her name was Donna Doane, and she was born in July of 1949. She lived her whole life in Connecticut. She and her Dad both worked at the post office in Clinton, CT for years. I haven't had contact with Donna in a couple of years, not sure if maybe she lost her house because of the economy and I know she had some health issues. Her 2nd husband died of cancer about 12 years ago. She has many grandchildren. She had told me that if my kids wanted to find their half brother, she had no problem with it. But I don't know how to go about finding a 46 year old man when I don't even know where he was adopted out of. All I know is the basics...he was born on Sept. 20, 1967 in Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown, CT. His Mom's name is Donna Doane, (maiden name). My ex-husband is the baby's father, but his name is not on the birth certificate. I told my ex-husband everything I found out. He still claims that he asked her to marry him. I don't know why she would lie to me about that, so I think he just thinks he offered to marry her. It made him look better at the time. Anyway, he has lots of regrets now that he is almost 65 years old. I know now, that he would like to know about his son too. But it is mostly for my children that I would like to be able to find him. So if anyone knows of someone that is adopted and was born in Sept. of 1967 please let me know. Oh, he probably has dark hair, (unless it is gray now), dark eyes and olive complexion. My ex-husband is 100% Italian, and Donna is German. She looks Italian though, I always thought she was, until she told me she wasn't. But all of her daughters look just like her. Dark hair and dark eyes and olive complexion, so I am pretty sure her son would look about the same. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I have posted this before, but I lost all my info and just signed up again using a different user name. I think I posted all this probably 8 or more years ago.
