Hello everyone! I am new to this board and to my delight found this "single parent adopton" I am currently married but...I may be single soon, I already have three adopted children and I would really like to get back into foster parenting and maybe adoption. What are the rules for single parent adoptions?

Of course these are subject to change and how desperate they are to place.
1. Have income.
2. Rent or buying, does not matter.
3. My divorce had to final 6 months.
4. Complete training classes.
5. Background check.
6. CPR training.
7. Have lots of patience (and I am not talking about with the kids, I am talking about the workers). :p
Good luck and welcome to the board! :)
if you live near DC or Richmond they are more open to things....I think genernal policy around here, Tidewater area is a year after a divorce......and four kids under 16 max for single parents. Of course the cities with more kids in care are more willing to accept different kids of families for example, Norfolk is open to lots of things...Doesn't take a really long time in Va to get a divorce if you have children?
If you have fostered before then you know the ropes. You will usually want to have the foster kids not share a room with your already there kids, and don't do anything you don't want to do like supervising visits with b-parents.
Personally, I just stick to public social services for foster care if you are doing it to adopt. The private programs have so many hoops they want you to jump through and I have found they look down on single parent homes that already have children.
So what area in Va. are you from?
