readoption quandry

Hello. We have adopted a little girl from Liberia and were told by the adoption agency that we would not need to readopt as I had traveled to Liberia and saw her before the adoption was finalized. However, that appears to be inaccurate as BOTH parents must see the child before the adoption?? SO...we are trying to readopt her in our state (Alaska) and NO ONE (literally) is familiar with this process. I went to the court house to fill out a petition of readoption and was told it didn't exist. I have called all of the adoption attorneys here....nothing. Can anyone help or offer advice, a direction to go in, etc.?thanks!
