My adoption was private. I wrote about it in adoptees stories. My mother was an airhostess an was flying Copenhagen-Bangkok-Tokyo route at the time so could come to Bangkok several times during the process. My dad, despite his lousy Danish:D could do most of the footwork home in Denmark so there wasn't the expenses normally involved with travelling back and forth.
I don't know if adoption rules have changed. My parents picked me. There is however a lot of confusion around my birth certificate and though I tried to clear it up with my mom yesterday, I don't feel I'm much closer to understanding whether it's authentic or not.
Dad said everything except birth date is made up and they had it made because it was necessary for getting me a passport.
Mom says it was handed to them shortly before they got my passport. That answer in itself says nothing about it's authenticity or falseness.
I don't know if it's at all possible to do a bfamily search in my case:confused: I am not so fortunate that I can afford to travel to Thailand and do the footwork in searching for my bfamily. I really don't know what to do at all:confused:
I'm from 22 December, 1976. The adoption took 2 months from start 'til end.
Somewhere I read that Thailand didn't allow adoptions after 1977. So I'm surprised to see how many have applied to adopt a child from Thailand.
