I noticed that we had a couple more join our board! Welcome to jusquapres, Mary Ann Bednar, cakegirl and mommyof2!
Forgive me for not posting a little bit more here. I have posted extensively on the special needs board. It has been a hard summer for us. ;) I didn't post the things here because I didn't want to "scare" anyone away! :) Having a house with 6 teenagers is well...a bit overwelming at times! But I am sure the boys will get over it! :p
Take care all and I hope everything is going well.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome! :)
The day after I posted I got called away on an "emergency" business trip & I wasn't able to keep up with the boards. Bleh, cannot wait until this contract is over & I can start working mostly from home... but thats for a different forum.
Anyhoo thank you again for the welcome, I'll be lurking around the forums a bit, especially this one & the special needs/older child adoption ones, until I get my bearings & actually have something to add to the convos!

Thanks Indy!
I've also been away - I still am, but I'll be home in about a month. This is the first time I've had a chance to get on the forums in a month.
BTW, I'm attending my govt dept's compulsory training when I get back home, and once that's done, I get a social worker assigned to me, and the nitty-gritty part of the application!
It is always good to see "new" people coming to the board. Sometimes...us "old ones" get stuck in a rut and need new thoughts to give us perspective. ;)
I wish you the best in your adoption journey!
I am a single parent father to four boys. Three I have adopted and one is placed but not finalized. They all came at 9 or 10 years old. They are now 17, 14, 14 and 12.
I am also a social worker and I work within the state system. I am frequently recruiting foster and adoptive parents.
