Update, for those who care, my sister is now being put in a 'care' facility because she hears voices. Apparently, the medication she was put on a few years back isn't working anymore. My question is . . . how in the world will I be able to pass a homestudy now. I have never been to a therapist. I feel no reason to, not hearing voices, love my parents, and no bad feelings of my own. Here's my situation, I'm single with no romantic prospects. I will soon be financially capable of taking care of a kid. I have a mother who went to a facility twice before I was born and know a sister who seems to go every few years. Will the homestudy people expect me to go to a therapist with my family in this way? Oh, and my father has brain damage from Agent Orange and PTSD. Tell me the truth, am I SOL? (excuse the language) My pluses, besides the soon to be fixed financial situation, I am honest, dependable, and a church-going man actively participating in all kinds of activities. I have only a couple of good solid friends (not counting fellow churchmembers) who I could trust with my kid. I look forward to any reply. David PS, I'm slightly overweight..but working on it.
