You could translate it yourself, but the translations have to be certified /legalized before submission to the NAC. This is usually done by your facilitator/translator in Ukraine after they translate the documents or by the Ukrainian Embassy here in the US. As far as I know, the UA Embassy will only legalize translation completed by a certified translation service and these are very limited in the US.Might be worth a try if the embassy agrees to certify your translations.

OS,does the reply seem absurd or the requirements? most countries require certification of document translations. Ukraine isn't any different. What is different is that there are many organizations that do certified translations of say Chinese, French, etc language documents in the US. Last I heard there were either 1 or 2 that did Ukrainian documents.

But the intent is that the dossier documents be translated by a group or individual certified to do the translations so that they meet their standards.This is pretty much universal for legal documents.Depending on the social security office you use after your adoption, they may send off copies of your new child's birth certificate and adoption decree for their own translations. They do this for the same reason...consistency in translation.
