[font=Comic Sans MS]I am searching for my husband's birth parents. The only information I have is that he was born 3-22-1971 at Duncan Memorial Hospital, delivered by Dr. R. L. Pearce at 4:26AM. His birth mother was 16 years old and his birth father was 21 years old. The only other info I have are there height, weight, eye color and nationality, they were both white. This is pretty much all we have to go on, we have contacted the Gladney Center, but at this time we just cannot afford the fees they are asking for, with no guarentee of being able to give us their names. Can anyone out there help me in my search?? Thank You!! [/font]

What kind of money are they asking for? Did your husband sign the registry at the Gladney Home? I registered when my daughter turned 18 but she had not registered and they had not heard from her since she was about 6 or 7 years old. I thought the registration fee was $15.00 and then if the parents have registered they would arrange counselling and a meeting.

He did sign the registry...however his birthparents have not, so in order to continue to try and find them Gladney want $350.00 to start the search.And if they don't want to be foundGladney will not release any information to us about them. And I just do not think that is right....I know to some people $350 is not alot of money, but when you don't have it to begin with it is alot! I just can't pay someone that kind of money with no guarentees of finding any information.

I lucked out - My birthdaughter found me. I had registered on another site and one day she was looking and found it and emailed me. I was so shocked. It was the very first time she had even attempted to look for me. This happened a little over two months ago. We have not met face to face but email each other almost every day. When she told her adoptive parents she had found me they were devastated (she is 20), so she has chosen not to meet right now. I understand that and respect their wishes so am going along with it. I'm just thrilled I know where she is and she is okay. Good luck to you.
I was born 3-3-70 at Duncan by R.L. Pearce as well. Have you received your non-id info yet from EGH? I think it's only $15. I feel the same way about giving them a bunch of money for info that no one else wants but me. Why is it so expensive to open a box and pull out a file. I guess I realize there is more to it than that, but it doesn't seem fair.
Sorry, I got off on my soapbox. I received my non-id info and it gave some leads within the questionaire that my bmom filled out. Sometimes they give jobs, hobbies, birth state, etc. I found by looking at the date my bmom arrived at EGH she had a birthday. She arrived at 21 and left at 22. She gave her parents info as well, jobs, hobbies, etc. If you haven't requested this, It may give you some leads.
