Hi.
My name is Amanda. I'm doing a research paper in school on Transracial/Cross-Cultural adoptions. I'm looking for input from primary sources on the topic. Please help me by answering the following questions:
What motivated you to adopt inernationally/transracially?
What were some reactions from family and friends to your decision to adopt internationally/transracially?
How do you feel your child/ren have adjusted and developed as members of a multi-ethnic family?
Some opponents of transracial/cross-cultural adoptions feel that children in such adoptions will have issues with self-identity. Have you encountered any issues with your child/ren's self-identity? Do you feel your child/ren have a positive sense of self?
What would you say to opponents of transracial/cross-cultural adoptions?
Based on the experiences that you have had, would you adopt internationally/transracially again? Would you recommend it to others?
What do you feel is necessary for a cross-cultural/transracial adoption to be successful?
Please e-mail your answers to the above questions to: wormie229@excite.com
Any help is greatly appreciated. :D
