Yet another Home-Study Question?

Has anyone had the experience of removing the staple of a Home Study and then stapling again at another place (the original staple holes are seen), and not had any problems when it was sent to any Official place?????

I don't have any inofrmation for yu other that I have only heard people make the comment on that when staples were removed, that the person took great care to get the staples back into the old holes.

Maybe your agency knows. Hope everything works out.

Although I don't have personly experience with it....I have been told to never, ever remove the staples an re-staple. If something is needed in the Homestudy then your SW should probably correct it.

We did with our last adoption, but that was five years ago. We did it becuase we were told to make a photo copy of our entire dossier, including the apostilles. It would have taken forever to do it one page at a time, espcially since so much was double sided. So we took staples out and did the whole homestudy stack, putting it into the copier feeder and then restapled. This time we copied it before sending it for the appostile and then we will make a copy of the appostille for our records.

We did need those in Russia last time. They had lost the top sheet (appostille) on one document, but because they could tell it had been ripped off, and I showed them my photo copied stuff had the appostille, they let it go. It was a scary moment. It had been lost somewhere in the Russian government's offices. Later they found it in the envelope, but I was glad I had made copies of everything. They didn't seem to notice at the time that we had taken it apart and restapled it.
