Hi, We have been contacted by a pbm in Florida and we live in another state. I've read a forum posting from an agency said that Florida's legal fee tends to be higher. Is this true? (We are trying to adopt independently) Can anyone share your independent adoption experience from Florida, such as legal process, ICPC, if we need to hire a lawyer in FL? Thanks! Tricia

Hello my name is Joi and I want to Congratulate you on you pbm contact. It truly is an exciting time. I live in Florida. We are matched with a b-mom in PA and we have lawyer in both states. You will need a lawyer in Florida to relinquishment and one in your state to do finalization. At least that is what I have been told. What part of Florida will you be adopting in? I maybe able to give you the name of our lawyer. As for cost...I believe our lawyer charges $200 an hour.
