I don't know if anyone knows the answer to this... I have read the FL statutes regarding adoption, and still cannot determine how long a pbmom has to sign papers - I know she cannot sign the papers until at least 2 days after the baby is born, but the way the statutes read, we don't know how long it takes for things to be FINAL. ie - how long would a pbmom to change her mind? Does that make any sense? The law itself is very convoluted - and I've had to friends who are attorneys read it too... I know for example in the county in NY where I grew up, the time period is very short - just 2 weeks. Any ideas of places to look would be greatly appreciated!

i know this is late, but i live in florida too, and after reliquishment papers are signed, it is irrevocable unless fraud or diress can be proven. and the bmom can sign as soon as 24 hours if she has written discharge orders in her hospital chart. hope that helps.
