OUR Empty Arms: A support group for women who have lost their only child to adoption and never had the privilege of raising another child. We never got to do the little things a mother does. We have really missed so much...so many little things that other women take for granted.
We are from all walks of life. Young and old, married and single - living alone. Some of us are searching, and some of us have been reunited, living with all the phases, good and bad, that reunion brings. Some of us have found death at the end of our search for our only child. No matter where we are we do have this common bond. Often times, very often, we feel our needs are not being met in other groups or we are not understood. We are moms who lost to adoption.
This group will help to bring us together in caring and support. Join us as we get to know each other. Join us to laugh, cry, vent and heal together. You will find "Our Empty Arms" to be a very positive place to be...our safe haven!

Dear Lady C.I dont think you know but there is already a long standing group of mothers ( like me) ,who lOST ONE OR MORE children to adoption called EMPTY ARMS.There are a lot of members such PIP from London who are members here too , if you dont believe me. It is a WONDERFUL group for moms like us Very long established and has even been mentioned in many Mothers Groups and better adoption sites and in Books--recently EA (empty Arms )Ann Fesstlers Book -The girls who went away (Fessler was on good morning America a few days ago) I suggest you all check it out as they are very experienced and helpful in moving reconnection and reunion forward and support that is absolutely safe and very caring. Please contact emptyarms.org I will give you all the help on getting to the EA HOME page that EVERYONE needs if they wish to contact me personally or Pip and I will send a link to the site. personally.for all to visit.Sincerely,Mary Ursula Orourke maryursulaorourke@gmail.com

Thank you so much for the information. The group I started did not work out. I was trying for a very small and intimate group. This is my own preference. I was in no way trying to copy-cat the Empty Arms group when I chose the name but it was a yahoo group and I felt that anyone looking through the directory should be able to know exactly who we were by the fact they would be in the birth mother section and by the name I chose.
