looking for half brother born in illinois or missouri need to know how would i find his adopted name??and because they change the birth dates im really having a hard time any suggestions

Is this your mother's son?

If so, you need to ask her where her son was born, what agency she used, and the date of his birth.

With that information, you should be able to contact the adoption agency. Many of them have a search service, and they would attempt to find and contact him.
