I figured since we're behind closed doors here, metaphorically speaking, we could kind of hang out a little and, like, mingle.
I'm grant. I live about halfway between Cape Canaveral and Miami. Well, closer to Miami. West Palm Beach, Florida. I've survived anthrax attacks, get defensive about butterfly ballots and unusually hostile around Mickey Mouse paraphernalia. I write about Nostradamus for a living (and should be doing that right now).
I'm married to a social worker, have three kids (the Chinese daughter, the daughter who's 10 years younger than I am, and The Boy (aged 11)), a dog, two cats and three chickens. My parents were immigrants from South Africa, and their parents emigrated from other places.
I get absurd amounts of joy out of singing sad, sad songs.
Who're you?

Oh thats cool, music therapy sounds like a blast, it's deffinitely in a wide range of things I would like to do with music. Robots as in, metal machinery resembling a human? I didn't know people could major in building robots, but yeah that it pretty cool!

Actually, I think USF built one of the snake-bots. Lemme see....
Oh. Yeah. Robot squirrel.

woah that squirrel looks freakishly realistic, is it giant or is it just the angle of the camera that makes it look that big?
Hi Grant,
That would be me that is/was a CASA. Not sure right now, as my last "client" ran away last year and hasn't been seen. Where does your sister-in-law live in AZ? We are near several national forests here, though the definition of forest is quite different here than back east.

Hi again Michelle,
I think you and my wife would get along really well. I guess she'd be a mixed media type person too. Check out her site! A few years ago she shot a pilot episode for a new show on animal communication, but it never sold. But it was quite and experience. Talk to you again soon. Keep up the great blogging!

As much as I love the idea of a giant robot squirrel, I think it's a small squirrel they stuck the camera really close to.
I mean, to create a giant robot squirrel in downtown Tampa would just be irresponsible! Imagine if it broke free and started shaking the old NCNB building looking for nuts?

Oh, these are *forest* forests -- her house is actually inside the Tonto Nat'l Forest, next to the Coconino, just outside Payson. Apparently the recent forest fires were just uphill from her.
It's all mountains and pine trees, so as far as this flatland swamp-dweller goes, they're forests.
Hi guys, I am late to join the party, Lori from Kansas doing the Kaz blog. We have one son we adopted from Kaz in Jan 05 and we are currently adopting a daughter from China. oh, and I am a computer idiot i think which explains why it took me so long to find this place. Glad to meet everyone!

Where is Payson? Not in KS is it?
I have had the chance to speak at some CASA conferences... would love to do the national one again. Haven't since the KC one years ago.
What kind of plane do you fly?
Are you a professional photographer? I am an avid amateur photographer. Wish I could afford all the equipment I wanted! My next purchase is studio lighting... I want the set up where I can run about 8 lights... the battery pack deal. Not the battery in the light itself. My son's fiance's dad has some old stuff that I messed around with... I took the pictures of Hannah and my other kids that I posted a few days ago, and the one of my BC. I LOVE photography and videography!

Radblog,
Payson is in Arizona. I was responding to Grant's earlier post about his sister-in-law living in a national forest.
I fly Cessna 172s, though I haven't been up for a while.
As for photography, I am a professional freelance photographer, which means I don't have a studio but work mainly on location. I am currently gearing up for the upcoming Little League season.
The pictures of Hannah are beautiful, as is Hannah. Thanks for sharing those.
Radblog, small world, I live in Pittsburg about 90 minutes south on 69 highway. I used to live in OP when I taught in Leavenworth. OP is a wonderful place to live.

HAHA!!! That brings insane visuals to mind. I'm a huge squirrel enthusiast, ha.
I am traveling every day to 359th (off of 69 highway) to check on my horses while we get our barn up. How far south of that are you? It IS a small world!
