Hubby and I are going round and round on picking a girls name, we don't want anything real popular but we don't want anything way out there either. I've been tossing a few names around, and I'd appreciate some opinions on them!
1) Makya
2) Makaelyn
We really love the name Kaelyn for a girl, however my neice's name is Kaleigh and my sister thinks that they are way too simlar. Suggestions?
I am not sure how to pronouce the first one. If you love a name Kaelyn, use it. There are a ton of families members with similar names. Not always convenient, but it certainly can be handled.

I love (personally) Kaelyn. LOVE. Love. LOVE!
In fact, one of the reasons behind the love is the song Cailin by Unwritten Law. Here's a snip-it from the lyrics:
Hey little girl
Look what you do, and you do
When all my love starts running thin
I got you my own Cailin
Hey little girl, I love you
I'll be alright
:) But I do love all three names. There are some similar names within my own family. (In fact, my Mom and her Sister both married Donald's and Josh's sister's name is Jenny. (I'm Jenna.) ) It can be weird at first but by the time the kids are older, it shouldn't matter! :)
I wasnt to sure how to say the first one?
But I like the second one its cute..reminds me of Mckayla which is my best friends daughter. [=
Unless the cousins! are going to be together a good majority of the time, I'd say you're OK with Kaelyn.
Makaelyn is a good compromise if you all do spent a lot of time together.
On the other hand, spelling it "Cailyn" would make it a little more separate from 'Kaleigh'.
I'd veto Makya for the simpler/prettier Maia.
Aren't names fun!!! Do you still have enough time to decide?
