I adopted my son in 1999. His younger sister was put up for adoption also and we did not know about it until it was too late. Her adoption was not exactly lega, the father listed on the birth certificate had a DNA test done, and she was not his. They listed him anyway and did not notify biological father. Bio father was killed and grandmother tried to find child, but they ran off to Colorado and will not let anyone near her. Adoptive parent now has terminal breast cancer. What are my rights as adoptive parents to brother to this child. I am afraid that she will wind up in foster care. Two other siblings are also living with my family members. Do my husband and I have any rights? We are willing to travel to Colorado to fight if we have to.
