Baltimore I-600A

Hi everyone,

We are planning to start our adoption process this summer. We attended an info meeting with our agency in January and we're told that Baltimore USCIS is a little slow. Just wondering if this is really the case. How long is the process taking after submitting our I-600A form. Also, do we need a completed homestudy to send in our I-600A form??

We moved from MD to VA this year so I am familiar with Balto CIS. They take about 10 weeks after submission of the completed hs to approve. You don't have to wait for the hs to be complete to submit the I-600A, though. Our agency suggests you do it as soon after the application as possible since fingerprint appointments are slow also.

That said, you may want to check about China. I know the VA the process is a little different. I think you can still get your fingerprinting appt, though.
