We have just sent in our application & homestudy to the agency we decided to use. I know that we have to make 6-7 books for the agency to show to pbparents; but I was wondering if there's someplace on the Web or books on how to make a Lifebook? Has anyone used computer/photo software to make their book? If so, what did you use? Have you printed the book on your printer or is it nicer to take it to Kinkos? Does the agency give you examples or how-tos?
I'd love to get started on it now so that we'll have the best one we can have when we need it! Any examples or ideas would be appreciated!!
Thanks for your help.
Lisa
I looked and looked online, but couldn't find any examples of adoption profiles, or scrapbooks. I went to a local scrapbooking store and explained what I was creating. The person working was thrilled to help me find paper, stickers, and other materials. I would suggest doing the same.
Good luck!

Hi Lisa,
THis probably is coming too late, but I used Scrapbook Factory Deluxe from Costco. Its really easy to use and does everything "traditional" scrapbooking does, just one dimentional. Then you print out onto photo paper and you have your pages for your book.

Hi Lisa,
Your adoption agency should give you guidelines as to how to prepare your profile books and let you see sample profile books.
We created our profile book on the computer. I used Photoshop (home edition that came with my scanner) to crop and adjust photos (adjust for brightness, etc.) and then inserted the photos into Microsoft Word documents. I used clipart, graphics, and fun fonts to decorate the pages. I printed the pages from our home computer onto glossy photo paper using the best photo quality printing option. I scrapbook but liked doing our books this way. Since we had to do 6 books, it seemed much quicker. We've successfully adopted 2 baby girls (separate adoptions), so I know our profile books turned out okay (at least birthparents liked them).
Best wishes,
Autumn
