I thought I'd start a thread for those of us "waiting". I'm not really there yet, we are just starting our paperwork and getting our checks done for our second adoption...but within a few months I should be with everyone else...In the mean time, I'm just hurrying to wait..lol
Leigh
Blessed by Bug- Yes our SW called the same day she got back from holiday, the child we were matched to ended up going to another family. She had said there were two more new profiles that she was going to look into, but that was two weeks ago. Im guessing that since I havenҒt heard from her that neither one was going to be a match for us. I am trying to be patient, some days it works, some days not so much.

Awww Darcie, patience is hard sometimes.
Our update:
DS will be 1 year old on Saturday, oh it goes by to fast...
We are just waiting to have our homestudy update visit so we expect to back to waiting sometime this fall or winter.

Jewel - I'm thrilled that everything is over and done - now it's time to just be a normal family!! woohoo!!
I have a non-existant update!! Nothing new here!! LOL
We are still waiting to be matched. I think our one year mark is either the last week of November or the first week of December (I forget) anyhoo - my hope is that sometime next year we'll get our next (I wouldn't have an issue with sooner, but realistically next year is more likely) :)
This made my second wait much easier. I didn't expect anything to happen for 18 months (I figured 2nd time might take longer, and that was the average wait at that point anyway). That put us AFTER Christmas 2006 so I was just leisurely biding my time. Roo came six months early by that standard!

Shucks... so sorry things didn't work out. It is so hard to be patient... each day is one day closer!
Thanks Bug, I'll try to keep that motto in mind from here on in. Today is an emotional day for me, I want that call to come in so bad that I almost cry when it's just a normal call. I swear the only thing keeping me sane is knowing you'll all wait with me, and waiting with you in turn.

Darcie - you really have to find something to take your mind off of it. I know that's easier said than done - but we've all had to do it. It's just too hard to be living day to day like it's going to be THE day - kwim?
Yeah, I understand. I feel better today. Most days are fine and then once in a while it just seems a little harder, you know??
hehe, shopping therapy always works!!
So I bought the cadillac of playpens the other day, it's got it all. Bassinet, change table, TENT!!! Perfect beach and camping playpen, which is great because we're big campers.
Darcie: I hear you! It is so hard to wait but for today, I hope you can find something to do to help distract your mind.
I think that today I decided that I am finish with adding more kids to the family for now. I am starting to enjoy my two girls and settling into the routines a little more better. Today they are at an activity for another two hours; I am spending the time cleaning house and just enjoying the quiet. It is really nice. Plus as I clean I am sort of putting pictures on the wall. We are still renovating so I really can't do much yet, but the little I do makes a world of difference.
Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend.

Jewel_ I know the renovating thing, were in the middle of that too!! But it helps by keeping you busy. I just painted the babyҒs room off white with mint green accents. Figured if we got a boy, we could add blues, if it is a girl, we can add peach. It actually looks pretty good right now.

I actually painted primer on a window this morning! I feel so proud. Plus I just found out that some family might be visiting this weekend. I will only tidy upstairs and tell them to stay clear of the basement. :)
Let us know how it is going Darcie. Leigh, where are you?
