I am searching for my birth family. My Birthmother was from St. Louis, MO and went to Home of the Holy Infancy (now Marywood) in Austin, Texas to give birth. I was born May 7, 1964 at Seton Hospital. Dr. Hahn was the physician.I had contact with my birthmom through Marywood (Home of the Holy Infancy) over 10 years ago. We exchanged letters and photos. I completed my reunion counseling, she expressed a desire to meet me, but she ceased communication before Marywood released identifiable information.Through letters, I know my birthmother was from St. Louis, Missouri. She was Catholic. She was 18 when I was born. She had 3 brothers they were 2 years older, 6 years younger and about 13 years younger. She later had 2 more daughters, Kelly (1967) and Amy (1971). My birthfather was Protestant. He was an only child & was 19 when I was born. He was a high school graduate. He & my birthmother dated for 2.5 years before she got pregnant. Based on descriptions given and the picture I received of her, I think I may look a lot like him.I'm doing all I can to locate my birthfamily. I am starting my own family, rather late in life & I'd like to know more about my genetic history, geneology, family, etc. I would like to meet half-siblings, relatives, etc. Thanks for the help,Laura

Laura,You asked a question on another thread if birthmothers amongst themselves changed their names? When I was at the home in 1971 it was run by nuns and there were a few social workers. The home itself changed our last name and they would always change it with the first letter of your last name to remain the same. Although I had never known they had changed my first name until I started searching registeries and found where my birthdaughter was looking for birthmother and used the first and last name the home had given me. That is how I found out they changed both my names. As to Dr. Hahn that was also the Dr. that delivered my daughter at Seton Hospital, which is right across the street from the home. I also see that you say that the home worked with you in providing information I guess you are very lucky because over the years I submitted information and they also promised pictures over the years and they never came through. Last year I tried to work with one of the social workers in obtaining more information and they did not want to help. They referred me to TXCare and to the Central Adoption Registery. Good Luck on your search and if you have any more questions feel free to PM me.
