They weather has broke and we are beginning to explore the back yard with our 2 kids, both almost 11 mo old. They are still putting everything into their mouths, and they are not quite walking.
So, which common plants, flowers, etc are poisonous?
Dandylions? Daffadills? Tulips? Myrtel/Periwinkle? Lillies? Hydrangeas?

Google it and you will find a lot of sites with info about common poisonous plants. Here is the link to one of them--it actually refers to plants that are toxic to animals, but often plants that are toxic to animals are also toxic to humans...especially children:

I'm so glad you brought up this topic. Just two days ago our 10-month-old was in a walker outside on our sidewalk, and I had turned just a sec, and she had scooted up to a plant, grabbed two handfuls of leaves and started munching. Yikes!
These ones I know: Oleander, Poinsettia, Shafflera, Croton, Foxglove
Be careful of plants with colorful leaves and plants that produce berries, because these can often be poison.
As far as I know flowers grown from bulbs (Daffodils, Tulips, Hyacints) are not really poisonous, but they aren't necessarily edible. They contain some substance that repels snails and other pests that crave spring greens.
Hope that helps a little.
