When I was in Ethiopia, there were lots of moment where I wished I had my camera but it wasn't convenient or seemed somehow disrespectful... I came home with many memories in my head that didn't get onto film, and frankly, had some regret that I wasn't braver with my camera.
While surfing around researchig Addis hotels this week, I came across this powerful entry about scene someone captured with words: Unphotographable: Outside the Sheraton, Addis Ababa There are other examples of this idea on that same website.
I think I am going to make a similar essay a regular Friday morning feature on my blog. And I thought I would mention it here in case other people would like to write their own "Unphotographable" on Friday mornings. If anyone, like me, was inspired by this writing device, it would be kind of fun if several of our blogs had that theme on the same day.
Just a thought...

Hey - I will do this too. I think this is an excellent idea.
I will do Unphotographable: inside Voronezh Regional Specialized Children's Home. What was most unphotographable was the smell...
