There have been so many great idea floating around I thought I'd share mine in case anyone can benifit from it.
I get an automatic GOOGLE notification whenever there is news about Foster - adoption..... It comes straight to my email and I can delete it, read it, blog about it, whatever.
This is how it works:
Go to www.google.com
(I have a google search toolbar)
Do a search under your key words:
i.e.
search and reuinion adoption
or
international adoption
or
infertility
or
older parent adoption
whatever your key words are.
then click on NEWS at the top of the google page. This brings up only the news items related to your search.
Then, go to the left of the page, and it brings you news alert settings. Here you can set your key words and notifications.
Here is one example:
Create the alert and you'l get the news staight to your email!
(on another note, you can set the alerts to not just NEWS, but the whole web....I've got an alert set for my name, so that I can see if I make it to search engines or who links to me, and who in my family has made it into the web)

Yes, I love my Google alerts. They sure can clog up an inbox, though. I now have a system for sorting and filing that helps me keep track of what's useful and needs following up, etc.
