(Although this goes the same for ANY state or country, of course! But I'm trying to use this board more.) I just wanted to say how different Mother's Day will be from now on for many of us.
For those of us who are waiting, we wonder if this will be out last Mother's Day without being a mom.
For those of us who have a child for the first time this Mother's Day, it's taken on a whole new meaning!
For the expectant mothers contemplating adoption and birthmothers of our children - there are no words. From this year on, whenever I think of Mother's Day it will remind me of all the first mothers out there who have shown the greatest love a mother could ever have. I can't imagine what this day means to you or what feelings it causes.
I would not be a mom if it weren't for my son's birthmom. I can't adequately describe how it makes me feel. But I can't stop thinking about her.
I will be saying special prayers this Sunday for all the new moms, all the moms-to-be who are trying to make a decision on what is best for their child, all the moms who have chosen adoption for their child, and especially those who are currently waiting to be a mom - you're expectant mothers too!
As mothers, we're all related!
Happy Mother's Day!
Thank you so much for expressing what has been in my heart this past week... I feel tears on my cheek as I contemplate honoring my own mother. I think about Mother's Day so much differently this year. For me a waiting adoptive mom...yes I am an expecting mom but don't know when I will be united with the children God will give me. Through the mother who will give birth to him/her. I wonder will this be my last Mother's Day? Will my arms no longer be empty this time next year? Only God knows.
I rely on the Blessed Mother Mary more this year as well. For she relinquished her son to save the world back to the Father :wings: . And how blessed we are for her willingness.

Oh my gosh ! I was going to post something about Mary on the Catholic board a little after this one, but didn't make it over there to do so. I've been thinking about that a lot, too this year - another different meaning for Mother's Day. I prayed so much for her intercession last year, because I knew as a mother she'd understand my yearning, yet as a mother who gave up her son, she'd also help the birthmother!

Yay - I love these boards. It's so easy to meet people you have things in common with, aside from adoption!
My first Mother's Day was great. Too bad the Hoosier weather didn't allow for more outdoor activities that we had planned. But just hanging out indoors doing the day-to-day Mom things with my son was THE BEST!
And one of our mares had colt a couple days before that, so I wished her a happy MOther's Day, too!
Yeah, I'd post a pic, but then I'd have to download from the camera, and I'd want to print it out to add to the Pets scrapbook I started a year ago. And where is that book again? Oh, right. In the big pile of the mountain of baby scrapbooks and that wedding one from almost 11 years ago that's still not finished and and papers and pens and mats and cutters and...........
So trust me when I say he's a cute little thing!
