This was posted on another website by a Canadian Agency. The new National Adoption Centre in Ukraine is moving slowly interms of getting their administrative functioning under control. Theyare definitely "under construction" as far as staffing is concerned. The new administration did not re-hire any of their old staff, sothere will be a need for training their new employees. At present, the Adoption Centre in Kyiv is not accepting anydossiers. The news that we received yesterday is that they willstart accepting dossiers (including updated dossiers) in July 2006and will most likely start allocating travel dates for September, and as late as January 2007. The AC stopped accepting dossiersin April.I am sorry to say that we should expect delays....
I feel so bad for the people that are waiting to adopt from there. They have been waiting and waiting and waiting! I am going to start the process in a couple of weeks. I hope things get back on track there and people can start adoptiong the sweet children who are waiting for a mom and/or dad. Thanks for sharing the news!
:) I'm a proud pug mom!

At this point this is all speculation. Rumor says that the new ministry should be open by either June 20 or June 26. Once it officially opens they should make an official announcement and then we will know for sure when appt's. will be given. Hang in there...not too much longer!!
It was posted on the " ADOPTION FROM UKRAINE " Yahoo group board.
Sonia Kondrat is the person who posted the message. ( I believe that she is the main moderator of that board.)
She also has an adoption agency in Ontario, Canada called The Ukrainian Cradle Adoption Agency. The link to her website is

You know what ticks me? That in all the announcements since they closed down for regular adoptions last year the date of May 3rd was given as the definite official day for opening the new department.
Now, after May 3rd there hasn't been a word from them.
It would be nice, that instead of letting people in the dark wondering when the new department will open,
that they would come out and say "well, now it's such and such date."
That would be a little more reassuring to us. But, they haven't said a thing since May 3rd, which tells me they are all in disarray, not even in shape to make a formal announcement on when they will open.
I know adoptions are not easy, and we have to be patient. But, this thing on Ukraine is a little exasperating.
