We are a month into summer vacation and so far I've still got my mind! :cheer: :p
The kids are already getting bored though and coming up with some very creative ways to get out of boredom. Guess the swimming, movies, playdates, day camps etc. are just not enough?
Yesterday my oldest son decided it was too boring to just run/jump through the sprinkler "toy" and decided to move it underneath the swings/playhouse. Swinging through the water was much more fun but not as fun as jumping from the ladder into the mud puddles that formed under the swings due to all the water. My...mud really dries fast in the heat...who knew??? :p
So...any summer fun things going on elsewhere??
each wed (today) we do pottery/clay/playdough
each thursday we spend all day in the water somewhere ...pool, water park, splash pad, lake...
Monday is manicure day
Get water guns and have a water fight.....I'd ignore the mud, but lay down guidelines....Must be approprately dressed (swim wear or grungies), must use hose to rinse off yourself, dog, swingset.....must ask incase cleanup required won't fit in day's schedule....then let em run riot...backyard is for kids...front yard is for grownups...
Give em water guns, bubbles....summer is all about getting messy and dirty and keeping it all outside!
washing the dog, digging to china (DH did this as a child), finding treasures, finding bugs, collecting rocks...
For a FUN family activity, look into Geocache-ing ....buy a GPS system, look online pick a hunt, and HIKE for treasure!!...or make your own hunt and hide your own treasure...

Digging to China!!! Oh man!!! I totally forgot about that childhood favorite!!:)
water guns are fun, but they are bored with that too. I know...go figure!
I like that treasure hunt idea...will need to do that!
Today's fun has been riding their bikes and playing a "Cranium" board game. They wanted to do the waterpark again, but I am the one that needed a break from that.;)
Think tomorrow we'll shoot for the zoo..they will like that with a picnic, I think!
