I had to request a new copy of my birth certificate, and did so. I understand the connotation of "amended" to mean that the my adoptive parents names appear on the record, and not my birth parents. My question is this: Is there anything else "amended" on this record, or is it just the names of my adoptive parents? I guess to explain better, is the date of birth correct? Is the filed date correct? Is the county of birth correct? Or does the state take liberties with this information as it does with birth parents names and replace them with an inaccurate date to thwart searching? I am at a point where I don't know what to believe anymore.
Has anyone ever had evidence that the dates or anything other than the names were changed on their "amended" birth certificates?
Thanks for feedback, and God Bless!!
