We are currently fostering my adopted son's sister who has cystic fibrosis. We live in Texas and currently her daycare is being paid for. We cannot afford to adopt her at this time, her special needs are already costing us more than what we receive in foster care reimbursement. The maximum subsidy does not cover her basic needs plus daycare. We were told we have to give a definitive answer as to whether we are adopting her next month or else they will begin looking for another family. We don't want to lose her! Has anyone had any experience in receiving more than the max $545 subsidy or been able to negotiate daycare being added to the subsidy? We are trying to find any assistance we can so we can keep her. We want to keep her with her brother (my son) due to her limited life span.
She is entitled to receive.
As well as is Retroactive Social Security Benefits, for being Disabled Since Birth!!
Have you talked to Social Security??
She should be receiving Medicare and Medicaid Medical Benefits.
As well as a Monthly Stipend double of what you are currently receiving!!
