While this is true, there is one person I know of that is adopting from Liberia and from Guatamala at the same time. I think she is even using two different agencies, so it can be done, but you have to get both agencies to agree and hope that the trips will not be at the same time and also that you have some time with the first child before having to leave them to travel to bring home the second one.
Mak...
Not sure if you are still checking about the two agency thing, but can tell you that yes, you can do this (we were doing this for Russia and Kaz recently, and I know several people that have done the same)!! So, what we did was just ask the agencies if we could have two contracts going at once and MANY of them had no problem with it. They did mention how it could cause some headaches for us, for example, if we travel to Kaz while still waiting on Russia, then we would have paperwork to update before we could go to Russia that would show that we do now have a child in our home, etc. And we had to be careful about the timing of both adoptions so that they didn't overlap.
As to the gap of 6 months to a year between adoptions, I only ran across a couple of agencies that had that policy (these agencies wouldn't allow adopting two unrelated at once from a single country either), so we just avoided them altogether and it was easy!!
We even considered going Kaz and domestic (Kaz was already in process) and found multiple agencies that didn't bat an eye. Its definately possible, but do be aware of the added costs of going that route and the added complexities to the process itself!!
Good luck!!!
