Okay, we have been trying to potty train my 2.5 year old daughter for about 2 months now. She has been off and on, but she ahs had mostly good days. Yesterday she did awesome. Her daycare said that she had no accidents at all! However today she had three accidents and only went potty on the toilet 2 times. She told her teacher that she does not want to go potty, that she wants to wear diapers. I am so concerned... What do you all think? What can we do?? What can the school do?

I think the best thing to do is stick at it. I know it must be hard. Is there anyone in your family who looks after her who might be giving in to her. My dad was like this with food. My son wouldn't eat solid food it always had to be mashed up, we tried to get him onto solids and were quite stern about it. It took ages and then we found out my dad had been giving in and feeding him rice oudding and things. It's just a suggestion. I hope it all works out.:grr:

With some toddlers, potty training (or not) is a control issue. I have heard from friends that taking the pressure off and not making it a big deal is the best way to go. My 2.5 year old daughter still wears a diaper. Sometimes she'll tell me she wants to go. But if I ask her to go on the potty she refuses. So I'm letting her call the shots. She'll decide when she's ready to wear undies fulltime.
With my son, however, we tried to control his potty training and it backfired on us. He's currently taking a prescription stool softner because he was withholding his bowels, getting constipated and it hurt to go which made him fearful of the potty. It was a horrible cycle. Now we're hoping the laxative will help retrain his mind and body so that pooping will be easier and stress-free from now on. He's currently gone almost a month without an accident. YAY!
