How do you organize your child's scrapbook? I mean, do you do it all chronilogically, or do you do some by event or theme? For example, have you done your book by placing all pictures of the first month together, second month, etc. Or have you put all bath pictures together, all sleeping pictures together, all visitor/family pictures together, even though they might be different months? Or do you just scrap pictures in the order they came in?
I am about to get started, and was thinking how I would like to do my daughter's scrapbook.
I'm a chronological, "event" scrapper. I like to see the progression and "life story" aspect of the book.

I scrapbook mostly chronologically. There are some exceptions where I will pull together some semi random pics for pages of friends, family, etc
I do have seperate books for school stuff for my girls too.
Actually now that I put that I figure I may as well list all of the albums/ lifebooks that I have
1 12 x 12 Scrapbook for each daughter (2)
1 8 1/2 x 11 Lifebook for each daughter (2)
1 12 x 12 School scrapbook for each daughter (2)
1 8 x 8 Family scrapbook (done digitally, and printed)
Diane,
I assume you scrap full-time! That's awesome! Hoping to get started on our daughter's book--I ordered some prints online the other day. I feel like a kid--I keep checking the mail daily for them to come!

My friend, who is infinitely more creative than me, set hers up chronologically. She had professional portraits taken every month and would start each new month of her daughter's life with the professional picture and label (ex. 7 months) Then she would put all the pictures from the month in that section and include unphotographed accomplishments (ex. first time sleeping through the night) It was really sweet and an awesome tribute to her daughter. I loved it and would like to do one like that, but I'm four kids behind!

LOL I don't scrap full time - but there are people that do! I find it helps if I set goals for myslef. Before Kids I did have a year that I was a PAD (Page a Day) Scrapper, Now I shoot for about a page a week.
I do find I get more digital pages done, mostly cause the program is on my laptop that I use for work, and I am frequently waiting for clients, so I use that time to scrap a bit.

Diane,
I am a beginner for scrapbooking. I want to get start for my daughter's lifebook. So far I can find 12x12 or 8x8 scrapbooks. But is there a 8 1/2x11 scrapbook as well? Is this a three-ring binder? Can you pull or insert pages?

Forgive me in advance if these are stupid questions -- I'm very new to this. I'm planning to do a lifebook/scrapbook for my son (he's been home a year from Guatemala). However, I would also like to share the journey of his adoption. Can I do this in the same book? For example, can I remove the confidential pages that deal with the circumstances of his adoption/background information if I would like to allow others to view the rest of the book (i.e. our travel to Guatemala, facts about the country, etc.)? I guess I could do two separate books, but I am already overwhelmed at the thought of doing one! :) Any advice would be great! :thanks:
