Hi I am new here. I found you all while researching Ukraine adoptions. We are very interested in the independent process. I am on a infromation gathering mission, and I am requesting any and all info you might have regarding anything to do with Ukraine adoption. PMs are also welcolmed. I do understand our paperwork must be received by Jan 2007 so I want to get a real good lay of the land now.
Thanks Jen

Hi Jen, We had our appointment on November 27th and arrived home with our 2 daughters on New Years Eve, they are 4 and 7yo. The process was practically flawless. We were shown 5 profiles of sibling groups, all of them had health issues (3 sets had minor issues and the other set had severe issues) with the exception of our daughters. We met our daughters 3 days after our appointment, our court date was 8 days after meeting them. Exactly 5 weeks after arriving, we flew home. Had we been able to fly on the days of our choosing, we would have been in country for 31 days. We were involved in shut downs with the SDA, so we have been at this for 2 years. We began our paperwork in December '04 and were registered in Ukraine on 08-01-05. They have new policies in place, so hopefully others will not be as long in the process. Our daughters both went on the registery at the same time that we were registered, so had we gone any sooner they would not be the girls that we tuck in at night. It was definitely worth the wait! Best of luck to you in your journey.
Weve been in Ukraine 2 times the 1st time in 2003 we adopted our little angel 18 month girl and in 2006 we adopted a little smart boy 3,5 years old. Both are healthy. The 1st time we spent 3 weeks in Ukraine and the 2nd time Җ 4 weeks. We were gone through the process so easy. Our facilitators did everything to make our trip comfortable for us. They are great couple. She is interpreter and he is a lower. You can ask their advice Yahoo!
