I was just wondering if anyone has tried contacting the attourneys that handled your adoptions in order to find their adoptee?
I placed my son in 1988, and I don't know what was the worst....the adoption itself or the attourneys. I guess I'm so petrified of being rejected, I can't seem to really move forward on this situation. Any info. shared would be appreciated. Thank you....:)

April, I tried contacting the attorney that handled my adoption and he was unable to locate his file as they are required to keep them for only 10 years after the close of the case (In SC at least). He was a family friend and from what I understand did an amazing job. He even came to the hospital with my adoptive parents to pick me up. If their contract specifies that they have to keep the records for longer than 10 years then they should still have it. Mine didn't. Hope this helps and it is different in every state.Pierce
