Hi All, I am new to the forum and would really like to know if there is anyone out there with any suggestions regarding my situation. I was awarded the adoption of a contested adoption and I would really much like to have maintained a relationship with the former fostermom, but I feel she is bitter about how the situation turned out. I don't know if I should make contact or leave well enough along. The holidays are here and I know this may bring up unwanted feelings since this is about the time all of this occurred but I tend to feel for her since she was apart of my daughters life for sometime.
Any suggestions would really be helpful.
Can your daughter maybe send a Christmas card to the foster mom? Something like that would be simple, and may be enough to keep the door open for something further. Maybe a little note or hand-drawn picture, too? Make sure to include contact information so that the foster mom can get in touch if she'd like to.
Good luck!!
