My foster son will soon be nine and I can NOT get him to put hair oil on! Never mind that his scalp will get itchy and dry without it. Is this normal that I should have to remind him of this? It wouldn't be so annoying if he did not have to be reminded of almost everything. His teacher actually sent him home with a note taped to him to return something to school that he had neglected to. He got his hair cut yesterday (after 5 wks instead of our usual 3) and his scalp looked dreadful underneath. Am I expecting too much of him?
Hello,
At 9 he will need reminding and maybe the home he came from he was never taught about his hair. He was negleted on other issues I am sure, hair was not on the top. If you can get him in a habit and try to tell him how nice it makes him look. Maybe he will start to understand.Good luck!!

My oldest will be 9 next week and skincare / haircare is a struggle with her.
We do the reminder thing, and if I can I do some 'overboard' treatments on her when she lets things slack. IE Sitting for 30 min with that cholesterol stuff on her hair and a towel .. . talk about BORING! lol
