Looking for my birthparents..

Hey my name is Caitlin and I was also adopted through Gladney in 1987 and just found out that there has been a match. I now have gottin letters and pictures from my birthmother and will be meeting her soon. I just wanted to say good luck and if you need a talk you can write me.

Hey Jenifer. The answer to your question is yes, it was a closed adoption. I don't think there were, if many, open adoptions at that time. And i'd be happy to answer any questions you have. I know how anxsious you must feel. I felt the same way! Look forward to hearing from you. Caitlin

Ok.. Well first of all I don't even know how to go about starting my search. I've never tried looking for either of my bparents before so I'm not sure where to begin. Who do I need to get in touch with to find the information I need to start looking for them? How did you find yours?

Jenifer O.K. well go the the Edna Gladney Web site and go to registration. Then you will print out some papers you fill out and then send them to them. Or there is problebly someone there at gladney that you can call. There should be a number on the website. They will tell you everything you need to know. If your Birthmother or Father or any siblings that you might have, have registered then they will send you back a letter telling you that there is a match, and give you her or his first name. Then you each get to write a letter with a picture and send it through gladney and you will also have to have one hour consuling secssion before they will geive you a phone number so you can set up to meet. 3/29/87,(June 26, 1987 was the date on my papers that I signed)but I learned that they change the birth date. Please contact me if you have any information. I gave birth at Edna Glandey. In Fort Worth, TX. My email is justdimellio@yahoo.com. Thank You..another name was used and that was spelled Direzza or Direzzea and DiMellio...I was 15 years old when I gave birth to her...also my family had Native American Indian heritage...P.S. I just found the paper I had to sign...and the final hearing for my part in giving you a family was done on June 26th 1987...so maybe that will help...I also have the case number which is : 325-106825...well I hope you would want to find me...cause I have so much I need to tell you...
