My daughter and her husband are wanting to adopt. They can provide for a child in every way. However, years ago my daughter wrote some bad checks. She was an adult (21) at the time. The checks added up to slightly over $500.00 so were considered a felony. I am wondering when a background check is done will this be held against her? Can anyone help me or lead me in the right direction? Thank you so very much!
In domestic adoption, not likely, but in International, it could.
The best way to find out what will and wont matter is to contact an agency :)

I know my cousin did this years ago- and once she paid them off she got it dropped ( She is in AZ) I don't know what the laws are everywhere but you may want to look into it.
