I am will be turning mine in on Tuesday in San Diego. I was told it is taking them 2-3 weeks. I think 6 weeks is the standard reply
This is the link for the processing time in LA

I'm not sure why it is showing Jan 17th as the posted date? Maybe they are slow to update since they are busy processing forms!!
We previously filed our I600A w/o the homestudy. We just sent in the HS 1/31/07, and haven't heard anything yet. Our agency said they're taking closer to 6 weeks.
maccafan,
My SW told me you couldn't do that anymore. If I had known that I would have sent in my I-600A last year.

Yash,
I sent my I600A form to LA without the homestudy in late January. They sent me the fingerprint appt info right away and I've had that taken care of. Once they receive my homestudy my paperwork can get in line with everyone elses. They did not indicate any problem with accepting it, just that they wouldn't process it yet.

I received my I171-H form back from the LA office exactly 2 weeks after they received my homestudy! Now to get my dossier off to my agency...
