I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I am an Air Force wife and adoptive parent to a beautiful, 16 month old son, Jack. My husband and I have had him since day one, and he is the light of our lives. He came along just when I thought all chances of ever being a mother (I am infertile due to stage 4 endometriosis) were gone. I had priced IVF, domestic adoption, and international, and I thought there was no way we could afford to adopt. IVF was out for me, it was too much of a gamble. Anyway, I won't bore you with the details, but the bottom line is my son came from the Avon lady.
It sounds so weird, but it really is true. Anyway, I have gotten another call, this time about set of sisters, one is 3 and one is a newborn, and we have been approached about adopting them. Once again I said, "yes!". And once again, my hubby is out of town. Last time, he was in Afghanistan when I got the call. This time, he is in Texas for 4 months. It is probably a long shot, but I used this website a great deal for support during our first adoption, I thought I would browse again, and I found this forum.
If anyone is considering or has any questions about domestic adoption, I would be happy to answer what I can.

We adopted our son from Japan while we were stationed there. It was a private adoption (no agency)(yeah, alot of time researching on our own) I have concidered domestic adoption, but I know that there are people who wait years to get matched. We will have to wait until our next base to do anything. We are at Cannon and it is getting realligned so we will only be here about another year to 18 months. Good luck with everything on your end.
