I have given two babies up for adoption. The first one was in 1994, in Texas. The second one was in 1995, in Florida. They both were open adoptions. Well I was trying to locate the agencies to see if I can, or they can let the adoptive parents know that I have two boys, and to see if I can get a picture. Anyway I located the one in Texas, but I can not find the one in Florida. How would I go about finding out how to communicate with the adopitve family? Or locate the attorney who did the adoption.
Thank you, Michelle
(This question was forwarded from the original adopting.org expert board for Open Adoption.)
It is great that you are attempting to re-establish contact with the families you placed your two children with. If you do not have the name and address of the adoptive family in FL, you will need to have the name of the agency or attorney who facilitated your adoption so they can put you in touch with the family. If you do not remember the name of the attorney or agency, I suggest trying the yellow pages for the community where you were living in FL at that time, and, if necessary, call everyone listed under adoption services!
Best of luck!
