Best of luck to your friend, Karen. We returned on New Year's Eve with 2 daughters. They are wonderful children! Our trip was 5 weeks long without any problems. We were very happy with the SDA, we were shown 5 referrals within the age and health guidelines that we had requested.

Hello yusen, Poland adoption friend :)
I have heard not such good stories. My friend opted for Ukraine instead of Poland because it was supposed to be quick, but now she is facing delay after delay. The program may also be unstable because of recent political events. Who knows what may happen in coming months. If I were your friend, I would definitely think about it and get as many opinions of people in process and waiting at the moment. Ukraine used to be quick and easy, but it is not the case anymore.
We traveled at the beginning of 2006 and adopted two children, a girl 21 months and a boy 6 yrs. They have the same mother, different fathers. We wanted to adopt a girl under 2, the only one available on the day we were at the NAC had an older brother and we decided to adopt them both. We were in process for almost 2 years, but I know people that have taken longer. I would be happy to talk to your friend as we have done 2 adoptions in Ukraine (another in 2001), but I know things have changed quite a bit since we were there
