Yesterday during Nap time my 3 year old daughter got a hold of our brand new jar of Nursery jelly from the babies changing area. She COMPLETELY covered every strand of her hair and entire body, Including clothes in it, got it in the rug and all over her dresser/tv. It was/is everywhere STILL...after numerous attempts to get it out.
I squezed as much as I could out by hand (were talking a lot of vaseline). Then washed it a bunch of times with regular bar soap, and shampoo and it still looked just saturated. I decided to give up on it for the night and just pulled her hair back in a pony tail. So a lot came off on her pillow/bed last night.
I looked on the internet and found a couple tricks, so I've tried them today. I tried corn starch several times followed by clarifyng shampoo several times. Still nasty. So I tried dish soap a couple times...still gross. So I tried egg...NOPE...and more dish soap..I'm done for the night again.
Anymore suggestions.... her hair still looks terrible.
I'm going to look online again tonight and see what else I can try.
I'm so frustrated with it.

Oh wow is all I can think. I can't believe the mess that is making.I'm sure this isn't much help and you've probably tried... I'd try to make the water as hot as is safe and your daughter can handle. Then just keep washing and rinsing. Maybe getting a towel or two that you wouldn't mind getting ruined (I've never had vaseline on clothes are anything, so I don't know what it does) and using it to rub your daughters hair. Try running a fine toothed comb through it as well to maybe pull (scrape?) off excess vaseline.I'm trying to remember how I get it off my fingers when I use it on DD's bum. All I can think of is soap and water, which it sounds like you've tried.Good luck!
