Anyone who is educated on appovals and denials of i600s please help. My friend is in Mexico. Her Hispanic daughter was adopted 1 month ago. She now finds out her I600 will not be approved by the US because her daughter turned 16 two days before the I600 was filed. She's legally her daughter but the US won't let her in!!!!!
Can anyone help! What can be done?
Anyone with any information on what can be done if you I600 is denied?
Please help. She is desperate.
I'm not sure what can be done, but you may want to contact your congressman to see if s/he will intercede on your friend's behalf. Our congressman was helpful in getting our 797 out when there was a bad slowdown.

Isn't the I-600 the first step in getting a child an adoption visa to enter the USA? If the child can not obtain an adoption visa then I believe the parent must live in the child's country with the child for two years, and afterwards the child can enter the USA on a regular dependent's visa.
Your friend may be stuck.
But PM a member here by the name of SAK9645. She is extremely knowledgable about the legal issues surrounding adoption and immigration. She posts mainly on the China adoption board, and may not see this question unless specifically directed to it. Perhaps she will know if anything can be done.
