Has anyone gotten more than the 80% adoption subsidy in Florida? Is there room to negotiate? Just curious because I only have one income since I am single and I will have to start paying for daycare once they are adopted and it is VERY EXPENSIVE for their ages.....
Also the GAL told me to make sure I list all the services they MAY need in the future, after the adoption is complete....I know I want to list therapy if we ever need it in the future....but what else should I list?
Anything you wish you had asked for before adoption was complete?
Any other advice..
:thanks:

I would definitely ask for Medicaid til age 18. Also college expenses are covered for 4 yrs for any child adopted via foster care in Florida. Also, list anything you know about the kids bio's medical, including psychological history. If there is something in the future that may pop up you'd want that to be covered (IE: My SIL is bi polar so our niece may possibly end up with it in her teens). If you have any medical information there may be something there that may come up in their later years so include that. And you can also renegotiate it by including anything not listed in the agreement. I'm working on our non recurring expenses (travel expenses, cost to ship our nieces stuff here, etc..) right now and we get 2k reimbursed. Then my job has an adoption reimbursement up to 3500 for agency fees or legal fees so I'm using that for legal fees for the attorney. When will your adoption be final? I think it's so cool you are adopting those special kids :) BTW: FSS here called me to place a 4 yr old girl with us the week our niece came home with us. Weird they called me because I'm only licensed specifically for our niece. I felt so bad cause I wanted her to get a good home and I hope she did. But I thought of you wanting a little girl and I was hoping they would call you! I wonder if I could have mentioned that.... :)
