My husband and I are in the process of a private adoption with the due date in Sept. The birthmom is older with having 4 children and only one under the age of 18 as well a 9 month old granddaughter. The BF is not in the picture and acutally on the run from his parole officer. OK my question is this, She keeps going back and forth on what she wants to do. She and I talk almost daily and have a open realtionship but she is still so unsure. My husband and I can't help but get excited. How do I express my excitement without hurting her feelings. I have guilt when I think about our dream coming true becuase she has to give something (our baby) up. Please give me your thoughts on this. Thanks

Excitement is something that expectant mothers considering adoption want to see. They want to know the parents are excited that their child will be joining the family. That said, let her know, with your words, that your excitement doesn't mean that she is required to place her child with you, that you will respect whatever decision she makes in the end. After that conversation is out of the way, there will be no need to feel guilt about your excitement. Not having it can create a sense of obligation and you need to avoid that.
Best of luck. :)

Yeah, I agree with Jenna!
Just let her know how you are feeling.
I've been through failed matches - sure it sucks, but you will make it through if it happens. Even with the uncertainty - enjoy this time!! It's exciting :)
