We have four kids, the baby is adopted. Birthmom and I were discussing yesterday what she should be called; I suggested "Mama S---" (her name) but she didn't seem to light up with excitement over that.
My other three don't have a set name for me; it's Mom, Mommy, Mama, etc. so it's hard to pick a title for birth mom that wouldn't interfere with their identification of who I am.
What do your adopted kids call their birth moms? I am particularly interested to hear how this works in multiple-kid families.
Thanks!

My daughter (I am a first mom) calls me Mom. My daughters mom is also mom. We both respond when we're all in the same room...My son, whom I parent, also calls my daughters mom, mom, I'm ok with that...we're all family. My daughter is eleven and she made the decision on her own to call me Mom...until the time she made that decision, she called me Brandy.

My adopted daughter calls her birth mom Mom, or when referring to her either My mom or My birth mom. She was 9 when she came to live with us, and had been with her birthmom till she was 5. From that time till she came to us she was with her maternal grandmother, so still had some contact with birth mom. Trying to change what she calls her now would just cause friction. So far, even when we are all together it isn't too confusing. For dd's birthday dinner she chose to sit "between both my moms".
