New Adoption Subsidy Info

I just wanted to pass along this valuable information for those of you that will or hope to adopt. Maintenance Adoption Subsidy Rate Increase Families who adopt special needs children currently receive a cash subsidy and support services. The Governor recommends an increase of $8.6 million in the existing subsidy rate for children adopted from state care, from an average of $3,792 to $5,000 annually until the child turns 18 years old. For adoptions of children not in state care, the administration is recommending $11.4 million for a subsidy of $3,000 annually for the first three years following the adoption.
