I am looking to get some new reading material. Have you read any good faith based books that you would like to share?
Are you looking for...non fiction? Or faith based fiction?
If the latter, then I suggest reading the series The Yada Yada Prayer Group. I think there is...7 books so far? I really enjoyed them. Some of the characters are totally annoying, but that's kind of true to life.
Don't know if that is what you meant or not...I also liked Emily Ever After and Consider Lily. I think the second one is called that anyway...it's the same author as the first.
ETA: I'm not Catholic...I think the books I recommended would be good for all faiths though. Sorry, I posted before I realized what forum this was...saw something about reading and got all excited. :)

My cousin is a christian writer and advocate/speaker for chastity. She is really good! She has written two fiction books geared toward chastity and courtship. I have read the first one but have not yet read the sequel. The 1st is a good read for adults and also for our teen childern, once the topic of sex and dating/courting is being discussed.
Author - Carmen Marcoux (website is courtship now)
1st book is Arms of Love
sequel is Surrender
If you are looking for non-fiction, I recommend "God Meant It For Good" by R.T.Kendall. It uses the story of Joseph to tie in with our lives, how God turns all the bad things in our lives to good, and how by standing firm in our faith we will be victorious in all things.
I'm Jewish, but I just finished reading White Smoke, by Father Andrew Greeley. I enjoy all of his mysteries that feature Bishop Blackie Ryan and Cardinal Sean Cronin, but this one had more depth than some of the others and is closer to a regular novel than to a typical mystery.
If you like mysteries and either are Catholic or want to understand more about Catholicism, Father Greeley's books are terrific. They are not "preachy", and they deal fairly well with human relationships, including sexual relationships. You may want to read White Smoke after some of the shorter mysteries, so that you better understand the Bishop and the Cardinal before getting started.

Hi :-)
I really liked Love In The Driest Season by Neely Tucker. It was featured in Adoptive Families mag. last month. If you are interested in fiction/romance I found a good series. The 3 books are by Linda Goodnight, the cover says Heartwarming Inspirational Romance. They were about 3 brothers separated as kids in foster care and searching and finding each other as adults and becoming Christians. I was sorry to see the books end.
Happy Reading!
